Recently traffic-spike hit in one of our shared-hosted WordPress blog TechGeeze.com and it forced Bluehost to shutdown all of our domains hosted in their servers. The sad part is that they don’t tell us the real reason for but instead Bluehost claims “It has come to our attention that your site is using an excessive amount of MySQL resources on your BlueHost.Com account. This is causing performance problems on your website as well as for other customers that are on this server. It can cause our servers to crash and cause additional downtime.” Mainly pointing to our site optimization issues instead on their shared hosting service capabilities.
Enough of that, now we’re thinking of upgrading our hosting to Virtual Private Server (VPS) and we’re eying for LiquidWeb service. So far their service reviews we’ve read was positive but a little drawback on LiquidWeb’s pricing.
Now all we want to hear are possible inputs from you guys for any suggestions for a much cheaper, reliable and fast VPS hosting? And if you’re hosting with LiquidWeb if you can share any experience about their services.
We’ll be also hosting multiple sites with 20K UV daily (all in all, across 5 sites), if you can tell us what server specification is appropriate or enough for long term next possible dedicated or much powerful VPS upgrade as the sites progresses and grow.
