How to make an iFrame Amazon Banner to open in a new window

Nov 24, 10 Amazon.com

Most people like their affiliate links to open in a new window, because almost all Affiliate links take the user away from the current site they are visiting, to a new website, where they can make a purchase or place an order. Webmasters often look for ways to make their affiliate links and banners to open in a new window, so the user does not leave their site. As long as the site is open in a background tab in the browser, chances are the user will come back to browse more parts of the website.

Amazon.com

With Affiliate links, it is very easy to make the target page open in a new window as it only requires a bit of HTML code in the “href” tag, which indicates if the link is to open in the same window or a new window when clicked. The HTML code to open a link in a new window uses target=”_blank” attribute. The same code can be used to open clickable images in a new window. However, the code is different when it comes to banner ads and links using javaScript or iFrames, such as Google Adsense and Amazon banners.

If you want your Amazon banner to open in a new window, you will need a slightly different code because Amazon banners use iFrame code, which is different from simple HTML. The attribute target=”_blank” does not work with iFrames; instead, you will have to use <1=_new as part of the “src” section of the code. It should be added to the end of the link code just before the closing apostrophe. An example code taken from bloggertipsandtricks.com is given below:

Code for Amazon Banner opening in same window

<iframe src="

Code for Amazon Banner opening in new window

<iframe src="

If you already have Amazon banners on your site, you might want to try this out and change them to open in a new window.

How to align post Title in Blogger

Nov 24, 10 blogger_logo

blogger_logoIf you are working with WordPress, it can be very easy for you to make a custom template for your blog according to your needs. However, if your blog is on Blogger, customizing the template of your blog can be a bit tricky. Most content management systems allow the user to change the design to some extent, according to their needs. Blogger also allows you to do that, and this article discusses how you can align the Post Title to the left, centre or right. However, before you go about changing the code of your site, it is a good idea to take a full backup in case something goes wrong.

When you log in to your account, you will see an option to change the Design of your blog under Dashboard. The full path to changing the HTML code for your blog can be found at:
Dashborad >> Design >> Edit HTML
Once you follow the path, you will reach an HTML editor which will allow you to make changes to your template.
Aligning the Post Title to Center
If you want to center align the post title, you will need to search for .post h3 (You can do this quickly by using the shortcut keys ctrl + F)
The code will look something like this:

.post h3 {
margin:.25em 0 0;
padding:0 0 4px;
font-size:140%;
font-weight:normal;
line-height:1.4em;
color:$titlecolor;
}
If you are familiar with CSS, you will understand this piece of code better. Now all you need to do is to define the text alignment:

.post h3 {
text-align:center;
margin:.25em 0 0;
padding:0 0 4px;
font-size:140%;
font-weight:normal;
line-height:1.4em;
color:$titlecolor;
}
Aligning the Post Title to Left
To simply move the post title towards the left, use text-align:left; instead of text-align:center; in the code above.
Aligning the Post Title to Right
Similarly, to move the post title towards the right, use text-align:right; instead of text-align:center; in the code above.
You can also change the font size, font weight and other attributes such as the padding, margin, line height and color for your heading by editing values accordingly. However, please note that the code can vary from template to template.
